After several years of not going to my hometown during Holy Week, we have decided to spend our Good Friday in Bulacan, Bulacan to watch the people doing "penitensya" and "pasan krus". When we arrived, we were told that we were already late since most of the "penitensya" and "pasan krus" are doing it before Good Friday. We were able to see few of them but we were lucky to see a reenactment of "Dakip" (Captured in English). This is a reenactment of Christ being held by the Romans and made Him carry a cross. The reenactment is a bit brutal since the Romans kick the one playing Jesus Christ and whip him while he is down. Usually, the one playing Jesus Christ would have a lot of bruises due to the numerous whips that he got from the Romans.
